Janice received her diploma in Secretarial Arts in 1989. Currently she is pursuing studies towards a degree in Accounting & Human Resource Management. Some classes recently taken are in the areas of Business Management, Finance Management & Staff Relations.

Janice moved to Lloydminster in 1992 and has been professionally employed in the field of administration and accounting since her arrival.

Janice joined CANSAFE in 1996 and has received several promotions during her service with the company.

In addition to her employment with CANSAFE, Janice has volunteered hundreds of hours to the promotion and development of safety within the oil and gas industry. Janice has volunteered her time as the recording secretary for the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) Lloydminster Chapter as well as serving as a primary coordinator for North America Occupational Health and Safety Week (NAOSH) several years running.

Janice has organized special safety training for pre-school children and has been an organizer for the St. John’s Babysitting Program. Janice has also been a staunch supporter and volunteer for Block Parents.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manager of Administration & Finance

    • Responsible for all accounting functions
    • Supervises the year end audits and preparation of final reports
    • Provides cost analysis on all major areas of expenditures
    • Supervises administrative support personnel
    • Prepares monthly financial statements
    • Advises on lease/purchase of all capital acquisitions
    • Oversees accounts receivables & payables
    • Dispatches all cheques for payables and payroll
    • Oversees annual inventory of supplies and equipment
    • Provides employee evaluations
    • Prepares & Coordinates staff and monthly safety training schedule
    • In the absence of the General Manager Janice assumes duties & responsibilities as the AGM (Acting General Manager)
